영어 회화 빈출 표현 'Gonna(=going to)'

Gonna

[Going to 의 비 격식표현. 구어체에서만 사용.]

1. I’m gonna… ; ‘난 ~ 할거야’

= I plan to ~

= I’m planning to ~

e.g.)

I’m gonna stay out tonight.

I’m gonna be a stay someday.

I’m gonna break up with my boyfriend.

I’m gonna stay up all night.

 

2. I’m never gonna… ; ‘나 절대 ~ 안 할거야’, ‘나 절대 ~ 못할거야’

= I’m not gonna ~ (at all)

= I don’t plan to ~ (at all)

= I’m not planning to ~ (at all)

e.g.)

I’m never gonna tell you.

I’m never gonna leave you.

I’m never gonna make it.

I’m never gonna win her over ※ win one’s over; ~를 내편으로 만들다, 좋아하게 하다

 

3. I think I’m gonna… ; ‘나 ~ 할 것 같아’, ‘나 ~ 할까 봐’

= I think I will…

e.g.)

I think I’m gonna puke.

I think I’m gonna get caught.

I think I’m gonna take 5.

I think I’m gonna turn myself in. ※ turn myself in; 자수하다.

 

4. You’re not gonna… ; ‘너 ~ 하지 않을거야’, ‘네가 ~할 여지가 없어’

= you won’t…

= you’re never gonna…

e.g.)

You’re never gonna regret this

You’re never gonna believe this.

You’re never gonna tell him.

You’re never gonna beat him.

 

5. You’re really gonna…? ; ‘너 정말 ~ 할거냐?’

= Are you really gonna…? = You seriously gonna…? = You actually gonna…?

e.g.)

You’re really gonna forgive her?

You’re really gonna do what he says?

You’re really gonna go bungee jumping?

You’re really gonna go quietly?

 

6. You’re gonna wanna… ; ‘너 ~ 하고 싶어질걸?’ ‘너 ~ 하는게 좋을걸?’

= You’re might wanna…

= You’ll wanna…

e.g.)

You’re gonna wanna think about that.

You’re gonna wanna watch this.

You’re gonna wanna sit down for this.

You’re gonna wanna listen to both sided of the story.

 

7. There’s gonna be… ; ‘~이 있게 될 거야.’

= There will be…

e.g.)

There’s gonna be lots of hot girl there.

There’s gonna be tough times ahead. ※ tough times; 힘든 시기

There’s gonna be a storm in the evening.

There’s gonna be 8,000 people.

 

8. What am I gonna…? ; ‘나 뭘하지?’

= What will I …?

= What do I …?

= What should I …?

e.g.)

What am I gonna do?

What am I gonna say to him?

What am I gonna wear to the date?

What am I gonna get him for his birth day?
